This year’s theme is “Using Markets to Address Health Inequities.” Join us for a series of informative discussions on this important topic.

There is a clear focus on increasing health equity in the United States. While we have made progress in many areas, we continue to struggle to provide high quality healthcare to some of our most vulnerable populations. This includes long standing differences in access for racial minorities, but also for lower income and rural Americans.

Recently, more attention is being paid to using the incentives generated by economic markets to tackle these long-standing inequities. This year the MacEachern Symposium will focus on how market structures can be used to focus on solving these entrenched issues. We are pleased to be joined by Dr. Toyin Ajayi, CEO of Cityblock, a value-based care provider for underserved and marginalized communities, and J. Michael McWilliams, MD, PhD, the Warren Alpert Foundation Professor of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. Other panels during the day will focus on questions of rural health and the role of federally qualified health clinics in these market-based reforms.
