Kellogg Healthcare Alumni Network (KHAN) is pleased to invite you to a healthcare alumni event on Thursday, November 29 in midtown Manhattan.  Join us for a spirited conversation about how value is created and captured in healthcare, with a particular focus on what types of businesses and products can attract capital and enter the market. 

Professor Craig Garthwaite will be joined by Ricky Goldwasser ’98, Managing Director, Healthcare Services and Technology Investment Banking, Morgan Stanley and Steven Elms ’92, Managing Partner at Aisling Capital, and others to discuss the future of this innovative industry and the impact of the financial markets on its development.

 Ricky Goldwasser is Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where she heads the Healthcare Services and Technology research group. Ricky joined Morgan Stanley in 2009 with prior positions at UBS, where she covered healthcare services, diagnostics, and generic companies, and was co-¬head of the U.S. Healthcare research team, and at Salomon Smith Barney where she started her research career as an associate in 1998. Ricky has ranked in the Institutional Investor All America research team since 2006.

Ricky holds an M.B.A. degree from The Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Tel-Aviv University.


Steven Elms is a Managing Partner with Aisling Capital, a firm investing in companies developing and commercializing innovative healthcare products, servicessteven-elms, and technologies.

Prior to Aisling, Steven was a Principal in the Life Sciences Investment Banking Group of Chase H&Q (formerly Hambrecht & Quist, “H&Q”). During his five years at H&Q, Steven was involved in over 60 financing and M&A transactions, helping clients raise more than $3.3 billion in capital. Prior to H&Q, Steven traded mortgage-backed securities at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Previous healthcare sector experience includes work as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Marion Laboratories and as a consultant for The Wilkerson Group. 

Steven received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University.
