Kurt Wheeler has over 30 years of direct investment and industry operating experience within the healthcare sector where he has led investments in the medical technology, specialty pharmaceutical and biotechnology space, including partnerships with pharmaceutical companies. Wheeler joined Blackstone in December 2018, as part of its acquisition of Clarus. Wheeler was a co-founder and managing director of Clarus since the firm's inception in 2005.

Prior to Clarus, Wheeler was a general partner at MPM Capital, a healthcare venture capital firm. Wheeler was a co-founder and CEO of InControl, a medical device company that was sold to Guidant.

Wheeler holds a BA from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
