Annual Malcolm MacEachern Symposium
Our 40th symposium was held at the Kellogg Global Hub in Evanston on Friday, May 3, 2024.
For the past 40 years, the Healthcare program at Kellogg convenes a group of healthcare experts from around the nation to discuss the most pressing issues in the healthcare industry. This program includes two keynote lectures, one by a leading academic and a second by a leading industry practitioner. The 2024 MacEachern Symposium focus was “Value and Incentives in Healthcare” and featured industry practitioner keynote Haruo Naito, ’74 MBA, Director, Representative Corporate Officer and CEO, Eisai and the Malcolm MacEachern Memorial Lecturer was Anupam B. Jena, MD, PhD, the Joseph P. Newhouse Professor of Health Care Policy, Department of Health Care Policy, Harvard Medical School; Professor of Medicine and Associate Physician in the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, both guests joined by Craig Garthwaite, Professor of Strategy, Director of Healthcare at Kellogg, as moderator. David Hyman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Eli Lilly and Company was accompanied by Amanda Starc, Associate Professor of Strategy, for a lakeside chat on his role and current trends in the healthcare industry.
